ABOUT & CREDITS
After graduating with a BA Hons in Illustration from Liverpool College of Art, I spent several years working in the animation sector in London.
Firstly, at the Richard Williams Studio in Camden Town, before moving to Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Animation Studio to work on various features in a variety of positions.
It was while working at these studios that my passion and skills as a scriptwriter developed and I decided to focus on writing and creating content for children’s TV.
Going on to write for series such as: Balamory, Bear Behaving Badly, Molly & Mack, The Wombles, Little Roy, Dennis & Gnasher, Jungle Book, Chuggington and 64 Zoo Lane.
I enjoy sharing the knowledge I have amassed over decades of writing and creating content for TV and Film, through lecturing on scriptwriting and story development for animation at universities across the UK.
I recently spent two years away from writing to work as part of the BBC commissioning team for CBeebies - helping to develop, edit, and add creative input into its slate of shows.
I left the BBC to again focus on writing and creating for myself and others. Most recently successfully revamping the iconic CBeebies preschool series Balamory for a modern audience, and completing my first middle grade children’s novel.
I have always enjoyed working with writers and producers to help develop their ideas and fashion them into broadcast ready content. I look forward to continuing that work for many years to come.
BRILLIANT TREES (2025 – 2026)
ZOO HOUSE – Co-Created and developed an original live-action bridge situation comedy series, following the exploits of a trainee zookeeper and his house full of wild animals.
LION TV / CBEEBIES (2024-2025)
BALAMORY - Employed as Series Creative Consultant and Head Writer. I helped to develop the successful commissioning pitch, wrote the series bible. Developed and outlined episode themes for both seasons, creating all the new central characters and their worlds and wrote the pilot x 2 episodes.
